On Independence Day weekend, 2026 we gathered to give thanks to God for the blessings of our nation. Worshippers experienced the historic richness of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer, the prayer book that would have been familiar to many Americans at the time of our nation's founding.
The congregation joined in singing beloved patriotic hymns and participated in the Holy Eucharist. The Rev. Catherine Cox reflected on patriotism through the lens of Christian ethics, drawing inspiration from the Gettysburg Address and Jesus’ enduring call to Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
Ladies of the Church decorated the Parish Hall in red, white and blue bunting and prepared patriotic centerpieces. It was a memorable day of worship, gratitude, and fellowship as we celebrated both our faith and our nation's heritage together.
