Busy for the Lord.
Dear Friends in Christ:
The pace of life is picking up at Christ the King. September will be a busy month for us.
Preparation is well underway for our Bingo Night September 12th. I hope you all can join us as we gather for fellowship and fun. This is our first fundraiser in a long time, and hopefully people will say we put the 'fun' in fundraising. I want to thank all who have contributed time, money, and prizes.
Rally Day is September 13th. If you are the head of one of our ministries, please confirm with Sabina that you will be there on Rally Day and can man a table about your ministry. Everyone please be thinking about what new thing God might be calling you to explore.Come talk to our ministry leaders to see where you might expand your service to God.
Starting September 13th, we will have Sunday School between the services for elementary school aged children, beginning at 9:20. Beginning October 11th we will have adult education between the services.
Bishop Fisher will be with us September 20th. There will be one service at 10:00 on this day. He will be baptizing one person and confirming two. If anyone wants to be baptized or received into the Episcopal Church just let me know as soon as possible. Our next opportunity to confirm or receive people will be in February 2027.
October 4th will be a special day for us. A consultant for the Diocese of Texas, Beth Fain, will be preaching at both services, and will meet with the Vestry after the 10:30 service. This is also St Francis day when we do the blessing of animals in the evening.
