Our Mission

"To be a light, living as a witness to Christ’s Love,

serving and nurturing all.”

Christ the King is a pastoral size parish in the Episcopal Diocese of Texas. We are a compassionate, generous, outreach-oriented congregation. We have approximately 70 families on the active roll and the average Sunday attendance is between 90 and 100 people. There is a place for you at Christ the King!

We are glad you found us!
All baptized Christians, regardless of denominational affiliation or age, are invited to the Lord's holy table to receive a blessing

and/or the Eucharist

Cox, who also goes by Mother Catherine, joyfully accepted the position and is looking forward to getting to know all of you. Mother Catherine will begin serving as our Rector on January 1, 2025.

To give you a little bit of background, Mother Catherine taught in public schools for many years before she felt led to attend seminary and become a priest. She attended Virginia Theological Seminary and graduated cum laude in 2020. Following graduation, she served as an associate at Christ Cathedral in Salina, Kansas, until she and her husband Jim moved to League City, Texas, last year to be closer to family. Mother Catherine and Jim have a blended family of 7 grown children. Mother Catherine is a life-long Episcopalian and served as a youth minister and taught Sunday School for many years prior to becoming a priest.

Mother Catherine's first Sunday with us will be on January 5th, and we anticipate we will have a reception for her and Jim following our 10:00 am service. Please mark your calendars for January 5th and plan to join us as we warmly welcome Mother Catherine and Jim into our church family.
